Poornima Hatti leads the dispute resolution practice for Samvad Partners and is based out of Bangalore. She also co-heads the employment law practice from the contentious perspective. She regularly sits as an arbitrator and mediator.
With more than eighteen years of experience in the dispute resolution space, Ms Hatti has extensive experience in Indian dispute resolution as well as in cross-border dispute resolution. She has acted on behalf of Indian and foreign clients in the context of litigation before Indian Courts, quasi-judicial authorities and in arbitration proceedings. She is associated with various organisations including the Singapore International Mediation Centre where she is an India Specialist Mediator.
Poornima is a visiting faculty member at the National Law School of India University and a guest lecturer at IIM, Bengaluru and is a member of the LCIA-Young International Arbitration Group and the Australasian Forum of International Arbitration, the Indian Arbitration Forum
Poornima writes regularly on arbitration and dispute resolution in India and is an internationally recognized speaker in the area. Poornima has written on the issue of sexual harassment at the workplace in the context of the anti-sexual harassment law, which came into force in India in 2013. Her articles have been published in books by Palgrave McMillan. She also speaks regularly on the subject and has conducted sensitisation programmes on compliance with law both at chambers of commerce and on client requests. She has also co-edited a book on leadership and role modelling at the workplace mentoring at the workplace which has been in 2018 by Palgrave McMillan.
